Originally launched in 1871 as the Crawford County Dairy Association, the PA Dairymen’s Association is now statewide and known for its delicious, creamy and popular milkshakes and more.
With a mission to create a sustainable dairy industry and to support the Commonwealth’s hardworking farmers, the Association advocates for the largest sector of the state’s agriculture industry.
In 1953, the Association joined with Valley Grange #1360 from Lewisberry, Pa. to serve milkshakes at the annual PA Farm Show.
More than 71 years later, the Association is still serving their famous milkshakes to Farm Show’s visitors and across the state at pop ups. At the PA Farm Show, the Association also provides their popular fried cheese cubes, ice cream, locally- produced milk and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Proceeds from the sale of the milkshakes benefit agricultural scholarships, youth programs, hunger prevention, the PA Dairy Princess program, Calving Corner, Future Farmers of America (FFA) career development, “Adopt a Cow” for elementary students, and many other educational and agricultural programs across the state.
The PA Dairymen’s Association is governed by a dairy farmer Board of Directors and is lead by executive director Dave Smith.
